Mrs Beatrice Nkanza

Mrs. Beatrice Nkanza is well-versed in banking, investment, pensions administration, fund management, capital markets, and insurance. She worked for Barclays Bank (Z) Ltd for 10 years (1983-1992) and served as Fund Manager at NAPSA (2000-2007). Mrs. Nkanza was the first female CEO of the Lusaka Securities Exchange (LuSE) (2007-2013) and chaired the SADC Committee of Stock Exchanges. From 2013 to 2017, she served as Chairperson of the Focus General Insurance Board and was a member of the AZIMAI Board, a women’s empowerment arm of NGOCC.
She is one of the few individuals in the market who has served in all four pillars of financial services, gaining hands-on, practical experience at very senior management levels. Currently, she operates her own consultancy, BNkanza Associates, where she works primarily with women entrepreneurs and young professionals. She also assists corporations with capacity building for performance-related interventions through coaching methods.
Mrs. Nkanza is a Board Member of the National Advisory Board of Zambia (NABII), an organization focused on impactful and sustainable investments, where women and small and medium-sized companies are predominant. She is also a founding member and Board Chairperson of Kuyuma Development Ltd., a company that provides financial support to SMEs, conducts economic and development research, and supports private sector companies and government programs.
She serves on the Board of the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) and chairs the Committee on Investments and Portfolio Management. Additionally, Mrs. Nkanza is a blogger and writer, focusing on financial literacy, savings strategies, investments, and entrepreneurship. As a broadcaster, she focuses on youth careers, development, and management. Continuous learning has been the hallmark of her ability to balance numerous roles, ensuring her knowledge stays sharp and relevant to changes in her environment.
Mrs. Nkanza is married, with three sons and two grandsons.
